We’re built to be a publishing solution
When Future Publishing wanted to publish interactive magazines onto the iPad in a meaningful way, the only option available was to use print tools such as Adobe InDesign that had been modified to have limited interactivity strapped on. This would have led to high production costs, issue download sizes of 500MB or more, and a poor user experience.
We wanted something better, so we built FutureFolio to be that something: a smarter workflow that makes tablets a first-class citizen, smaller issue downloads, and maximum interactivity so that no one feels their creativity is curtailed by limited tools.
As a publisher, Future knew the kinds of problems other publishers faced: how do we avoid disrupting our existing workflow? How do we reach as many readers as possible? How do we keep costs low? How do we measure reader consumption?
FutureFolio is a tool built by publishers for publishers to answer these questions, and we think it’s pretty awesome. But we’re not alone:
